CMT Field Technician

About the Position

We are seeking a motivated and dependable CMT Field Technician to join our team. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working outdoors, traveling to project sites, performing hands-on testing, and being part of construction and engineering projects.

The successful candidate will perform field testing and inspection services for construction materials while maintaining accurate records and communicating effectively with project personnel.

Responsibilities

• Perform field testing and sampling of construction materials, including concrete, soils, aggregates, and other materials as required.
• Conduct testing in accordance with applicable ASTM, AASHTO, DOT, and project specifications.
• Perform inspections and document test results accurately and efficiently.
• Travel to various construction sites throughout the Augusta/Aiken area.
• Communicate with contractors, project managers, engineers, and clients regarding field activities and test results.
• Maintain testing equipment and company vehicles.
• Complete daily field reports, testing documentation, and other required paperwork.
• Follow all company and project-specific safety procedures.
• Represent the company professionally while working with clients and project teams.

Qualifications

• Previous construction materials testing (CMT) or construction inspection experience REQUIRED!
• NICET certification and/or ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician certification is a MUST.
• Experience with soil, concrete, asphalt, or aggregate testing is preferred.
• Ability to read and understand construction plans and specifications is helpful.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Ability to lift, carry, and handle testing equipment and materials.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accurate documentation.
• Dependable, safety-conscious, and able to work independently.
• Willingness to travel locally to construction project sites.
