Overview

The Corporate Marketing & Communications Specialist is a self-starter who routinely collaborates with HR, branch locations, and company leaders to provide marketing, sales, and internal & external communications., including content creation and recruiting assistance, to further the goal of the company to be the benchmark in the professional services industry.

The ideal candidate is willing to work IN-OFFICE, 5 days per week (Monday-Friday), during normal business hours (typically 8am to 5pm). Our office is located near the Birmingham Race Track off of Derby Parkway.

Responsibilities

Marketing Responsibilities

  • Produce company documents used for marketing purposes consistent with our corporate brand standard across the company.
  • Support all branch offices with client pursuit by preparing SOQ/RFQ/Qualification Package responses, etc. including the creation and maintenance of team resumes.
  • Work with Business Development to provide sales and marketing support.
  • Develop internal marketing processes to create resources for leaders to access company information.
  • Create compelling targeted/market specific marketing collateral such as cut sheets and service brochures utilizing outside creative agencies/graphic designers.
  • Procure internal and external promotional items for giveaways, including branded marketing items (coozies, etc.)
  • Provide assistance and support as needed for the intern program initiative. Assist HR department in recruiting and retaining employees with marketing efforts.
  • Attend meetings, that discuss strategy & planning with respect to sales plans, new service lines, new branch opportunities, target clients and target markets.
  • Cosential Administrator - Responsible for maintaining company accounts, data, personnel data.
  • Work closely with leadership to establish Building & Earth as a thought leader in all markets we serve by generating technical blogs, media posts.
  • Work with company leaders to look for non-profit opportunities to give back in the communities we serve and create opportunities to come together as a team.
  • Promote brand awareness utilizing digital and traditional marketing methods such as Google My Business page, digital ads, and mailer campaigns.

Communications and Content Responsibilities

  • Produce regular and long-term communications for internal/external audiences via multiple channels including publishing the monthly newsletter, weekly updates, special announcements, press releases, media outreach efforts, social media posts, etc.
  • Collect content from within the company that can be used to help tell the Building & Earth story on our website and for the purpose of recruiting and retaining employees.
  • Research competitors and industry related content on social media, magazines, special events and conferences.
  • Stay abreast of best practices and look for systems to help improve internal and external communication.
  • Work with outside creative and communication vendors for subject matter expertise.
  • Work with leadership to aid customer service excellence by measuring, reporting and working with management to improve the customer experience for internal and external clients at Building & Earth.

Qualifications

Minimum Education, Training and/or Experience

  • Associates Degree or greater in a business-related degree, marketing or communications preferred.
  • Minimum 3+ years of experience in a marketing or communications role, preferably in the A/E/C environment.
  • It is expected for the marketing & communications specialist to continue job related education tracts and certifications.
  • Proficiency with content management systems (CMS), and design software is plus. 

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

  • This is a full-time, IN-OFFICE position with a typical schedule of Monday thru Friday, 8am to 5pm.
  • Due to the wide range of duties and responsibilities availability during standard business hours is expected routinely.
  • Hours and schedule may flex as needed when working after hours and traveling.
  • Travel: Some travel is expected for this position.

 

Requirements

Possession of a valid state of residence driver’s license. 

Ability to be insured under all applicable Corporation insurance policies and requirements.
