    Basic Functions:

    This position leads, builds, and manages a broad range of talent management programs to develop talent within the organization.  This role consults with leadership teams and HR partners on talent management initiatives that align development and training with organizational goals. Key responsibilities include leading and supporting strategic talent planning activities, organizational development, designing and implementing performance management practices, employee development, leadership development, and succession management.



    The Talent Development Manager must be a college graduate, preferably in business administration or human resource management, with at least five (5) years of experience in talent development for various job groups within an organization.  Strong computer, communication and employee engagement skills are required.



    • Engages with business leaders of all levels to address skill gaps, organizational transitions and aligns development processes to business goals.  Builds strong partnerships to effectively execute talent management programs.
    • Identifies learner skill gaps and ensures the content enables learners to accelerate their growth and performance.
    • Develop and support a succession planning program.  Build processes, structure and executes succession recommendations from senior leadership to meet the needs of the business.
    • Communicates development opportunities and schedules, serving as a visible champion to build a culture of learning and professional career development.
    • Assesses current and future learning needs based on business needs and find innovative ways to deliver training to employees.
    • Analyzes company talent data and proactively seeks future trends to evaluate course offerings, developing and implementing appropriate learning solutions (assessments, programs, coaching, job aids, etc.).
    • Oversees, monitors and evaluates talent management effectiveness, success and ROI, adjusting accordingly to meet ever-changing business needs and objectives.
    • Manages content for the learning management system (LMS) and ensures access to material, troubleshooting, and manages course offerings. Continually evaluates materials for effectiveness.
    • Assist HR partners in recruiting technical and business minded talent to the organization.

    Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (Competencies)

    • Knowledge of human resource law, practices and procedures.
    • Demonstrated knowledge of applied leadership skills, abilities and best practices.
    • Ability to communicate effectively with a thorough knowledge of business English, spelling, arithmetic and vocabulary.  Communications must be open and honest in keeping with Building & Earth open communication philosophy.
    • Ability to create and maintain accurate and confidential records and data and to prepare easily understandable reports for distribution.
    • Ability to organize, coordinate and prioritize tasks and schedules.
    • Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with employees and the general public with a focus on maintaining a customer focus at all times.
    • Ability to dress, speak and act professionally & appropriately.
    • Ability to deal with stressful situations, multiple priorities and hectic schedules calmly and courteously.
    • Skilled in the use of computers and common software applications, including ability to learn company specific software applications.
    • Skilled in financial management & problem solving/analysis.
    • Ability to work ethically, honestly and safely at all times.


    Physical Requirements

    1. Must be able to work, move, or carry objects or materials up to 20 lbs.
    2. Visual/hearing ability sufficient to comprehend written/verbal communications in the English language, including the ability to communicate directly and over the telephone and be understood.

    Minimum Education, Training and/or Experience

    • College degree in Business Administration or other related discipline.
    • Computer literacy with proficiency in Microsoft Office or other spreadsheet software
    • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in talent recruitment and development.


    Special Requirements

    1. Possession of a valid professional license in engineering or related field.  May be required to obtain professional license in multiple states.
    2. Possession of a valid state of residence driver’s license. 
    3. Ability to be insured under all applicable Corporation insurance policies.

    Travel to and from project sites and other branches, including headquarters, is expected on a routine basis.  Overnight travel will be required.
